    San Francisco could not find an answer for senior forward Tracy Morris, the leading scorer in the West Coast Conference, who poured in a game-high 21 points and fell to Saint Mary's by a final score of 58-41, Saturday in War Memorial Gym. The loss for the Lady Dons (10-13, 3-7 WCC) was their fourth consecutive their longest string of the season, while the Gaels snapped a two-game slide and improved to 16-7, 8-2 WCC).

    Saint Mary's galloped out to a 13-3 advantage in the early going and led wire to wire with USF getting no closer than two points, 18-16 on a lay-up by freshman forward Carey Sauer with 9:02 remaining in the first half. Saint Mary's responded and extended the lead to 10, 34-24 at the half. Morris poured in 11 in the first half, three points shy of the total turned in by USF's starting five.

    USF's struggling offense went from bad to worse in the second half as the Lady Dons shot an anemic .185 (5-27) from the floor in the second half and never mounted a serious challenge. USF was held at 34 points from the 11:16 mark in the second to 2:56 remaining. No Lady Dons player reached double figure scoring.

    Morris paced Saint Mary's with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while sophomore forward Jerkisha Dosty pumped in 15 points for the Gaels. Sophomore forward Jermisha Dosty ripped down a game-high 12 rebounds as Saint Mary's dominated on the glass, out rebounding USF 43-32. The Gaels owned the offensive boards and pulled down 21.

    USF stays in the Bay Area next week when they travel to Santa Clara for a midweek match up against the Broncos. Game time is 7:00 PM at Toso Pavilion. The Lady Dons are in search of the first WCC road victory of the season.
