ALUMNI WEEKEND EVENTS: Saturday is women's basketball Alumni Appreciation Day and will be filled with events honoring past Dons. The Events include:

11:30am : Women's Basketball Complimentary Alumni Luncheon with the current USF Coaching Staff at Fior D'Italia Restaurant located at 2237 Mason Street in San Francisco's North Beach
2:00pm: Meet the 2008 USF Women's Basketball Team at Shoot-Around in Memorial Gym
7:00pm: USF versus SCU - TIP-OFF in Memorial Gym
Halftime: Special On-Court Introduction of all USF Women's Basketball Alumni in Attendance
Post-Game: Alumni and Senior Night Reception in the Bill Russell Room in Memorial Gym

CARTER CONTINUES ASSAULT ON CAREER SCORING CHART: A three-time West Coast Conference First Team selection, senior guard Dominique Carter enters Saturday against Santa Clara with 1,739 career points, good for second place on the USF career scoring list. The Tracy, CA native trails USF Hall-of-Famer Mary Hile (1977-81), who holds a comanding lead with 2,324 career points. In Conference charts, Carter surpassed Saint Mary's Anja Bordt (1988-91/1,710) and is in fifth place. She needs four points to pass Saint Mary's Cheree Tappin (1987-91/1,742). Carter is third in the league in scoring this season at 18.3 points per contest and is second in free-throw percentage (.833/60-72).

A LOOK AHEAD: The Dons head out for their final road trip before the Conference tournament when they travel to Loyola Marymount (2/28) and Pepperdine (3/1).

GAME #27 - SANTA CLARA BRONCOS

SCOUTING SANTA CLARA: The Broncs enter Saturday with a 18-8 overall record and 7-4 in conference play. On Thursday, Santa Clara fell to San Diego 66-53. USF fell to the Broncos 57-50 in Santa Clara in their first meeting of the year (1/26/08). On the leaderboard for the Broncos, senior guard Chandice Cronk is scoring 17.1 ppg with 2.1 rpg and 1.7 apg. Senior forward Jen Gottschalk is second on the team with 15.7 ppg, 5.3 rpg and 1.1 apg. Through 26 games, the Broncos average 68.0 points on .425 from the field, and a .754 (295-391) clip from the free-throw line. Michelle Bento-Jackson is in her 6th year at the helm for SCU. She owns a 96-82 record in Santa Clara.
