(San Francisco) - USF placed three on the 2007 All-West Coast Conference Team as announced by today the league office. Junior guard Dominique Carter (Tracy, CA) earned first team honors for the third consecutive year becoming just the 19th player in WCC history to capture three straight first team selections. Sophomore guard Shay Rollins (Alameda, CA) received Honorable Mention selection, while freshman guard Heidi Heintz (Spokane, WA) was tabbed for the All-Freshman Team.

One of the most dynamic scorers in the league, Carter is only the second player in program history to earn first team selection as a freshman, sophomore and junior. USF Hall-of-Famer Brittany Lindhe (1994-99) was the first and is the only four-time first team all-league pick in WCC history. Carter surpassed 1,000 career points at Hawaii (12/29/06) and enters the 2007 WCC Tournament opener against San Diego with 1,228 career points in 85 career games (14.4). A 2006 WCC All-Tournament Team selection, Carter ranks fifth among WCC scoring leaders (14.2), second in field goal percentage (.474) and 10th in free throw percentage (.767). The Tracy native owns 19 career 20-point games with six this season, the last a 23-point effort at Saint Mary's (1/18/07).

A 2006 All-Freshman Team selection, Rollins enjoyed a solid year in the Dons backcourt and ranked second on the team in scoring (10.3) assists (2.5) and steals (1.1). Rollins scored 18 points at Cal Poly (12/2/06) and added 16 off the bench in USF's 67-64 win against Florida State (12/20/06). Rollins continued her high scoring output during WCC games, matching her career-high with 18 points at Saint Mary's (1/18/07) and then broke it with a career-high 20 points in a big win at Pepperdine (2/8/06). Rollins recorded her first career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds at Santa Clara (1/20/07).

Heintz turned in a solid rookie season with the Dons and ranked fifth on the team in scoring (6.6) and rebounds (4.1) and elevated her game during WCC play, adding 7.4 points and 4.1 rebounds. Heintz scored 11 points against Boise State (12/10/06) and turned in her first double-double of her career at Fresno State (12/16/06) with 10 points and a career-high 10 rebounds against the Bulldogs. The Spokane native exploded for a career-high 17 points - all in the second half - against Pepperdine (1/13/07).

"I am very proud of our all-conference honorees," USF head coach Tanya Haave said. "I think everyone who was honored was well deserving of recognition. Dominique is one of the premier players in the conference and she will only get better. She has made some impressive strides during the second half of the season. The last two months of the season, Shay has improved as much as anyone. She has taken a leadership role and has really picked up the team from a leadership perspective. I am also very impressed with what Heidi Heintz has done for our team. For her to come in and have the season she has is remarkable and it is a testament to her work ethic."

Carter's selection to the first team, gave San Francisco a share of the league record with 31 all-time selections, joining Pepperdine as the most in conference history.

USF opens the 2007 WCC Tournament Thursday, March 1 against No. 2 seed San Diego in Portland. Tip-off against the Toreros is set for noon at the Chiles Center.
