Freshman guard Joy Hollingsworth was named to the 2002-2003 Freshman Honorable Mention List as selected by WomensCollegeHoops.com. Hollingsworth earned 2003 West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year accolades after averaging 10.7 points, 5.0 rebounds 1.6 assists and 1.8 steals per contest.

Hollingsworth started in 27 games for head coach Mary Hile-Nepfel and reached double-figure scoring in 19 contests, including a career-high 26 at San Diego. Hollingsworth becomes the first Lady Dons freshman to earn national honors. The criteria for selection to the Freshman All-American squad follows below.

WomensCollegeHoops.com is pleased to present the Third Annual Freshmen All American Award List. We pick the two/three best guards and two/three best forwards/center for each of the 3 teams and limit ourselves to 12 honorable mentions. The five on each team must be a five that could play together (no four guards and a post player type line-ups), but up to 3 guards are allowed. By "Best" we mean those players who we think performed the best at their position and also had a major positive impact on their team on both ends of the court.
