Come Join Women's Basketball In Support Of Jimmy Rollins And The Phillies

(San Francisco) - Come join the USF athletic department and the Dons women's basketball team Thursday as they cheer on Jimmy Rollins and the Philadelphia Phillies for game two of the 2008 World Series. Rollins, the starting shortstop for the Phillies, is brother to USF's point guard Shay Rollins, a senior on the women's basketball team.

The Dons are inviting all supporters, alumni, faculty, staff and students to join them at Kezar Pub, located at 770 Stanyan Street in San Francisco, Thursday at 4:30 to enjoy the game between the Phillies and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Join the Dons for the viewing party and show your USF ID card to receive 10% off food purchases during the event.

A three-year starter at point, Shay Rollins enters her senior season for San Francisco as a top returner from the 2007-08 campaign. The native of the East Bay attended Encinal High in Alameda and is the Don's top returning scorer this season after averaging 12.7 points per game as a junior.

Jimmy Rollins, a three-time all-star, is in search of his first World Series ring as he helps to lead the Phillies in their quest to their first championship since 1980. During the playoffs, Rollins is hitting at a .243 clip with two home runs. Overall, Rollins hit .277 with 154 hits, 76 runs and 47 stolen bases during the 2008 campaign.
