San Francisco Women’s Golf Places Fifth at Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate
Peppiina Kaija and Michelle Condry Share 10th Place in USF's Final Fall Event

(Palm Desert, CA) – San Francisco rallied on the final day of the 2011 Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate to post a fifth place showing at the event Sunday afternoon in an event hosted but the University of Wyoming. The Dons shot the second lowest round of the day with a 305 at The Classic Club on the par-72 course.
It is the fourth consecutive top-five team finish for San Francisco and the fifth dating to last season.
Sophomore Peppiina Kaija (79, 78, 72) and Michelle Condry (73, 79, 77) shared 10th place at 229. San Diego State's Christine Wong won the event at even-par 216 (74, 73, 69).
SDSU won the event ay 888 (297, 305, 286) for a 16-shot victory against runner-up Fresno State at 904 (295, 297, 312). The Bulldogs held a 10-stroke advantage going into the final round. Tournament host Wyoming was third at 923 (301, 315, 307) and Cal State Northridge was fourth at 937 (304, 320, 313). The Dons rounded out the top-five teams at 939 (316, 318, 305).
