Capped outstanding prep career with second state championship, winning the Washington 3A girl's tournament with a 5-under 139 (67, 72) at the Horn Rapids Golf Club in Richland. Hegge blistered the course and set the club record with a 5-under 67 in the opening round and cruised to her second state title of her career. Hegge, who won the event as a freshman in 2006, finished five shots in front of Foster's Mallory Kent (73, 71). Winning the 3A Washington Championship continued a long string of success for Hegge during her senior year. The two-time Washington Junior Golf Association Player of the Year posted a runner-up showing in the 2008 Arizona Silver Belle tournament at the Arizona State Karsten Golf Course. Hegge shot a three-under 213, finishing one stroke behind the eventual medalist. |
