2007 Southland Conference First Team
AT USF (2009-10)
Miscellaneous: Shot a 6-under 64 – the lowest round
in USF women’s golf history – in the opening round of
the Challenge at Onion Creek… the 64 was also the lowest in
women’s Division I golf in 2009-10
Spring: Posted three top-20 finishes during the
spring season… carded two rounds at par or better... shot
low round of the spring with a 2-under 69 in the opening round of
the Anteater Invitational… shot an even-par 72 to start the
Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawaii. Fall:
Saved the best tournament of the fall for last and made history in
the process at the Challenge at Onion Creek… posted a
career-best third place finish in the event at 2-under 208 (64, 73,
71)… the 6-under 64 in the opening round was the lowest in
women’s Division I golf in 2009-10… turned in a top-20
finish with a 19th place showing at the Ptarmigan/Ram
Fall Classic at 3-over 219 (76, 72, 71)… carded three rounds
at par or better.
AT USF (2008-09): Showed flashes of strong play during
first season on the Hilltop... turned in best tournament at the
season-opening Ptarmigan/Ram Fall Classic at 221 (72, 74, 75)...
posted seven top-20 showings including a pair of top-10 finishes...
finished seventh at the 2009 Duck Invitational and was 10th at the
2009 West Coast Conference Championship... carded three rounds at
par or better... missed one tournament while competing for Iceland
in the World Amateur Team Championship.
MISCELLANEOUS: Member of the Icelandic National Team...
competed in the 2007 Women's World Amateur Team Championship and
the 2007 Spirit Cup... shot career low round of 68 at the Keilir
Golf Club in Iceland.
AT MCNEESE STATE (2006-07): Posted a pair of top-10
finishes for the Cowgirls... in only season at McNeese State, was
the lone freshman named to All-Southland Conference Team... did not
play collegiate golf in 2007-08.
PERSONAL: Tinna Johannsdottir... goal for the season is
to work hard, play well and have fun doing it... chose USF for the
quality of the school and the golf program... favorite thing about
San Francisco is the European feel of the city... favorite quote is
by Muhammad Ali "It's not bragging if you can back it up"... best
advice is you can't win a tournament on the first day, but you can
lose it... favorite movie is Coach Carter... favorite singer is
Kanye West... enjoys movies, sports and spending time with friends
and family in free time... biggest sports thrill was standing on
the first tee on the first day of the World Amateur Team
Championship... parents are Johann Sigurbergsson and Aldis
Thordardottir... International Studies major.
