(Miami Lakes, FL) - USF women's golf shot its best round of the tournament at 306 and posted a fifth place finish at the 2007 Papa John's Collegiate, hosted by Miami at Don Shula's Golf Club Tuesday. The Dons placed three players in the top-20, led by freshman Natasha Podmore in fourth place at 230 (77, 76, 77).

Louisville won the event at 924 (308, 313, 303), leading wire-to-wire, followed by San Jose at 926 (312, 311, 303). South Florida (318, 311, 303) and East Carolina (314, 311, 307) shared third place, followed by the USF at 936 (316, 314, 306), five strokes in front of the host Hurricanes.

"There were a couple minor victories on the final day with Natasha finishing fourth overall," USF head coach Josh Cupp said. "I'm disappointed in the final result and there are things we need to work on as a team in preparation for UNLV. I know we will rise to the challenge."

Junior Jessica Potter finished 10th at 232 (78, 79, 75), while freshman Christina Stockton shared 18th at 236 (83, 78, 75). Potter ranked second among the tournament field in par-3 scoring at even par and shared the tournament eagle lead with a hole-in-one during the opening round on Sunday. Podmore was third in overall birdies with seven.

San Francisco led the field with 26, five more than Georgia State and also paced the pack in par-3 scoring at +22 (3.37). The Dons ranked third in par-4 scoring at +53 (4.35)

USF returns to action when it competes in the 2007 UNLV Spring Invitational, beginning Monday, March 12 at the Boulder Creek Golf Club.
