USF Women's Golf 11th After Two Rounds of Bruin Wave Invitational

(Santa Clarita, CA) – USF women’s golf shot bounced back after a rough opening round to shoot a 292 and jumped three spots to 11th with two rounds in the books at the inaugural Bruin Wave Invitational Tuesday at the Robinson Ranch Golf Course. Playing its first event of the spring season, the Dons look to charge up the leader board, but must do so against an elite field featuring no fewer than seven top-25 programs, including five appearing in the top-10, including tournament co-hosts No. 1 UCLA and No. 9 Pepperdine.
UCLA leads with 18 holes remaining at even-par 576 (286, 290), four shots in front of the Waves (288, 292) and Southern California (286, 294) at 4-over 580. Arizona State (294, 288) and Arizona (283, 299) are tied for fourth place in the event on the par-72 course playing at 6,282 yards.
San Francisco enters the final round at 602 (312, 291), one stroke behind Oregon (295, 307) sitting in 10th place.
Senior Natasha Podmore leads the Dons in 21st place at 146 (78, 70) after firing a 2-under 70 in second round play. Senior Danielle Cvitanov also charged after a rugged opening round and is tied for 26th at 149 (79, 70) and carded five birdies en route to a 2-under 70.
Playing in its first event of the spring season, USF looks to continue its charge in final round action on Wednesday. The Dons will tee off on No. 10 tee starting at 7:39 AM.
