(Menefee Lakes, CA) - USF women's golf fired a 304 in the opening round and followed with a 304 in the second round for a 608, good for sixth place at the 2002 Pioneer Electric Bruin Classic hosted by UCLA. The 54-hole event concludes Tuesday with the final round at the Menefee Lakes Country Club beginning in a shotgun start at 8:30 AM.

West Coast Conference rival Pepperdine fired a 592 (297, 295) and leads the 16-team field after 36 holes, while the host Bruins fired a 596 (299, 297) and Oklahoma with a 598 (303, 295) are hot on the Waves' heels. New Mexico shot 606 (305, 301), Cal fired a 607 (302, 305) for a one-stroke lead over the Lady Dons in sixth place. Katherine Hull (74, 69) and Lindsey Wright (71, 72) of Pepperdine share the individual lead with a two round total of 143.

Junior Susie Laing was San Francisco's top finisher after two rounds with a 149 (77, 72) for a share of 11th place in the par 72, 6,116 yard event. Freshmen Mariko Shimozaki (79, 72) and Laura Viveros (74, 77), each carded 151 to share 18th place. Viveros is competing as an individual for the Lady Dons in the tournament. Sophomore Jordan Autenshot a 154 (74, 80) for a share of 37th, while junior Lisa Chen shot 157 (77, 80) and junior Lyndsey Devenish shot 158 (76, 82) for a share of 53rd and 54th, respectively.

San Francisco competes in final round action at the Pioneer Bruin Classic on Tuesday and search for the second consecutive top-five finish of the spring season.
