(Kane'ohe, HI) - USF women;s golf battled a gusty course and a solid field and sits in second place after 36 holes of the 2010 Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational Monday at the Kane`ohe Klipper Golf Course in Kane`ohe, O`ahu. The Dons shot a 606 and sit three shots back of Nova Southeastern University heading into Tuesday's final round on the par-72 course playing at 5,920 yards.
Senior Christina Stockton (73, 77) and junior Tinna Johannsdottir (72, 78) share fourth place at 150. Senior Natasha Podmore sits 13th at 153 (76, 77), while senior Danielle Cvitanov shares 14th place at 154 (77, 77).
Nova Southeastern shot 603 (302, 301) for the day one lead, followed by the Dons (297, 309) and Division II national power Rollins College (300, 306) at 606. Fresno State is fourth at 609 (305, 304), while Nevada rounds out the top-five teams in the 17-team event at 617 (304, 314).
