USF Women's Golf Posts Runner-Up Finish at Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational

(Kaneohe, HI) - USF women's golf shot a final round 321, the best round of another blustery day on the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course to post a runner-up finish in the 2005 Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational with a 989 (325, 343, 321). Washington won the event with a 976 (310, 339, 327).
Senior Mariko Shimozaki shared runner-up honors with a 236 (78, 82, 76), just one shot behind Cougar medalist Kim Welch at 235 (76, 83, 76). Shimozaki, the medalist in the Dons first event the 2005 Bay Area Classic, continued her strong play in front of friends and family in her native Hawaii.
Freshman Jessica Potter shared sixth place with at 246 (78, 85, 83), while freshman Chaneng Joe shared 16th with a 255 (80, 89, 86).
USF women's golf returns to action March 21-22 when it competes in the Duck Invitational, hosted by Oregon at the Shadow Hills Country Club in Junction City, OR.
