(St. George, UT) - San Francisco shot a 909 (296, 307, 306) and claimed runner-up honors at the 2003 BYU Dixie Classic at the Sunbrook Golf Course. Junior Jordan Auten won medalist honors, after turning in the finest tournament of her career at USF with a 218 (73, 72, 73). It is the first medalist honors for Auten and the first for a USF golfer since the 2001 campaign when Emilie Arnaud won the West Coast Conference title.

UNLV won the event, beating USF by three strokes with a 906 (307, 307, 292). Denver (918), Colorado (926) and Nevada (927) rounded out the top-five teams in the 22-team field.

Sophomore Mariko Shimozaki shot a 229 (71, 80, 78) to earn a share of 18th place. Seniors Lyndsey Devenish (234) tied for 37th, Susie Laing (235) tied for 29th, while Lisa Chen (236) came in 42nd.

USF returns to action when they compete in the Peg Barnhardt Invitational April 12-13. The tournament, hosted by Stanford will be played on the Stanford Golf Course.
