USF Women's Golf Posts Runner-up Finish at 2004 WCC Championships

(Madera, CA) - USF women's golf shot a 316 during a windswept final round to secure their third consecutive runner-up finish in the 2004 West Coast Conference Championships held at Riverbend Golf Club. The Lady Dons shot a 903 (298, 289, 316) finishing second to Pepperdine, who shot 876 (289, 285, 306) to secure their third straight league title.
Senior Kristi Larsen fired an even-par 72 in the final round and posted a runner-up finish as well with a three-under 213 (72, 69, 72), one stroke behind Pepperdine's Carolina Llano, who shot 212 (68, 71, 73). Joining Larsen on the All-WCC First Team from USF was freshman Kristin Nichols who shot a 229 (72, 74, 83), good for seventh place.
Senior Mariko Shimozaki earned All-WCC Honorable Mention selection after posting a 231 (78, 74, 79), for a share of eighth place.
