The USF women's golf team placed second in the West Coast Conference Golf Championships which concluded Tuesday (Apr. 16) at Riverbend Golf Course in Fresno. Nationally ranked Pepperdine won the women's title. USF was paced by top-ten finishes by Susannah Laing (4th), Jean Shimozaki (5th), Jorden Auten (7th) and Lyndsey Devenish (9th).

The top of the women's leaderboard was dominated by Pepperdine as well with all five golfers finishing in top ten, led by all-conference first-teamers Lindsey Wright, Katherine Hull and WCC Freshman of the Year Crystal Fanning. Wright won the WCC title for the second time in the last three seasons, claiming the trophy at the 2000 championships as well. Also on the first team all-conference were USF's Mariko Shimozaki, who finished in fourth place, followed by teammate Susie Laing and Portland's Megan Radonich in a tie for fifth. UP's Radonich became the first Pilot women's golfer to earn first team all-conference honors.
