USF Women's Golf 19th After Opening Round of 2010 NCAA West Regional

(Palo Alto, CA) – USF women’s golf shot an opening round of 312 and sit in 19th place after the opening round of the 2010 NCAA West Regional Monday afternoon at the Stanford Golf Course. The Dons look for better fortune in second round play Friday on the par-71 course playing at 6,115 yards.
No. 13 Virgina and No. 7 Arizona lead the field at 7-over 291, while No. 1 UCLA and No. 24 Cal share third place at 8-over 292. No. 32 Texas sits in fifth place at 293.
Senior Natasha Podmore leads USF after carding a 6-over 77. Playing in just her fourth competitive round this season, freshman Emily Chiu shot 78 and led the squad with three birdies. Senior Christina Stockton also shot 78.
USF tees off second round action Friday starting at 8:00 AM. The Dons will be going off on No. 10.
