Sept. 10, 2002

(Fort Collins, CO) - USF women's golf opened the 2002-2003 season on the road competing at the 2002 Ptarmigan/Ram Fall Classic at the Ptarmigan Country Club. San Francisco shot respectable scores of 301 in opening round action and followed with a 306 in the second round, but it was not enough to keep up with the torrid pace of Baylor and host Colorado State. The two teams matched each other shot-for-shot and each fired a 293 in the first round and a 291 in the second to share the top of the leader board.

Senior Lyndsey Devenish (77, 74) and junior Jordan Auten (75, 76) share 22nd place in the tournament with 151's, while sophomore Mariko Shimozaki (76, 76) owns a share of 25th place after a 152 on day one. Senior Susie Laing fired a one-over 73 in the firs round, but struggled in the second, carding an 81 for 154 and a share of 34th.

USF competes in the final round on Tuesday.
