Women's Golf Moves Into Ninth Place After Second Round At Edean Ihlanfeldt
Oct. 8, 2002 (Tacoma) - USF women's golf bounced back from a tough opening round and fired a 306 in the second round of the 2002 Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, hosted by the University of Washington at the Tacoma Country Club. Senior Susie Laing continues to play well and finds herself in a share of third place on the individual leader board after shooting two-under 71 for a two day total of 144 on the par-73 course. San Francisco carded a two-round total of 620 (314, 306) and moved up a spot in the team standings to ninth place and trail Oregon State at 614 (301, 313) by six strokes for eighth place in the elite field of seven Pac-10 schools and five top-25 teams. USC continues to lead the field although their lead has fallen to seven strokes after holding a commanding lead entering the second round. The Women of Troy own a two-round total of 593 (292, 301), followed by the host Huskies (296, 304) and Pepperdine (300, 300) at 600 for a share of second. California is fourth at 602 (299, 303), while UCLA rounds out the top-five at 604 (303, 301).
