(Sammamish, WA) - USF women's golf shot 308 in Wednesday's final round of the 2008 Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational at Sahalee Country Club and shared fourth place in the event with Pac-10 power Cal. The Dons, who shot the lowest team round of the tournament on Tuesday, posted the third best round of the day to secure its third straight top-five finish. Stanford won the event going away at 905 (303, 303, 299), 16 strokes in front of runner-up Oregon at 921 (299, 309, 313). Tournament host Washington place third at 922 (310, 310, 302) on its home course, while the Dons (321, 298, 308) and Cal (310, 308, 309) rounded out the top-five teams at 927. "This was a real test of golf," USF head coach Ria Quiazon said. "Pin placements were very tough and it's a very challenging golf course. Under the circumstances, we had a solid showing, but I know we are capable of much more. It is just a matter of continuing to practice hard and not settling." Junior Danielle Cvitanov posted her second straight top-five finish to pace the Dons. Cvitanov shared third place at 226 (79, 73, 74). Juniors Natasha Podmore and Christina Stockton shared 18th place at 233. Junior Diana Hong tied for 25th at 235. San Francisco returns to action when it travels to Hawaii to compete in the Kent Youel Invitational, beginning Monday, October 28 in the islands at Kapolei Golf Course.
