(Palo Alto, CA) - USF women's golf recovered from a tough opening round and shot a 296 Saturday in the second round of the 2009 Stanford Intercollegiate at the Stanford Golf Course. The Dons remain in 14th place - two shots behind the tournament host Cardinal - and look to finish strong in Sunday's final round on the par-71 course playing at 6,156 yards.

Senior Danielle Cvitanov fired a 2-under 69, moving into a share of 14th place at even par 142 (73, 69). The defending West Coast Conference Player of the Year carded a team-high five birdies on the day, three on the back nine. Freshman Katrina Hegge shot a 3-oover 74 for the Dons with a pair of birdies.

No. 4 Arizona State leads the field at 13-under 555 (273, 282), while UCLA is second at 6-under 562 (277, 285), two shots in front of Texas at 564 (279, 285). No. 21 Vanderbilt is fourth at 5-over 573 (290, 283), while Washington rounds out the top-five teams at 579 (285, 294). San Francisco enters the final round at 600 (304, 296).
