USF Women's Golf Shares Second Place after Opening Round of 2004 SDSU Aztec Invite

(San Diego) - USF women's golf shot an opening round 298 at the 2004 San Diego State Aztec Invitational on a blustery and wet Monday at the Auld Course. Play was suspended due darkness in the second round after the first took nearly six hours to complete. The remaining groups will complete their second round beginning at 8:00 AM Tuesday before third round play begins.
San Francisco shares second place in the event, seven shots behind the leader Baylor, who opened with a 291. Boise State and Northern Arizona share second place with the Dons, while Long Beach State is in fifth place with a 300.
Freshman Jessica Potter shares fifth place with an even-par 72, while senior Mariko Shimozaki and junior Nikki Jacoby share the 14th spot with a 75.
