USF Women's Golf Leads Pack at 2006 Kent Youel Invitational

(Honolulu) - San Francisco women's golf leads the 2006 Kent Youel Invitational, hosted by Hawaii at the Kapolei Golf Course, after firing an opening round 297 Tuesday. Junior Jessica Potter shot a one-under 71 to pace the Dons, while senior Eloise Vicencio carded a one-over 73 in her first round of the season for USF.

San Francisco owns a five shot lead on New Mexico State (302), while SMU (305), Boise State (306) are in contention. Nevada and Long Bech State share fifth place at 307, 10 strokes off the pace. Second round continues and should be completed by 9:00 PM (PT) with full second results available tomorrow morning.

Potter is second overall, one shot behind Southern Methodist's Lacey Jones, while Vicencio shares fourth place with Melanie DeLeon of Nevada. Junior Chaneng Joe turned in a solid opening round for the Dons with a 75, good for a share of ninth place.

USF competes in the final round of the Kent Youel Invitational - its last event of the Fall season - Wednesday.
