(Oahu) - USF women's golf team shot 613 (305, 308), good for a share of seventh place after the opening day of the 2002 Kent Youel Invitational at the Kapolei Golf Course. Senior Lyndsey Devenish led the way for USF with a 150 (75, 75) and owns a share of 14th place heading into the final round on Tuesday on the par-72, 5,900 yard course.

Cal leads the field after shooting an impressive 581 (285, 296) and owns a 15 stroke lead against Pac-10 rival UCLA (295, 301), who shot 596. Stanford (302, 297) shot 599, BYU (303, 302) shot 605, while New Mexico (309, 297) shot 606, to round out the top-five teams.

Hawaii native, sophomore Mariko Shimozaki (77, 77) and junior Jordan Auten (72, 82) each carded 154 and share 33rd place heading into the final round. Senior Susie Laing struggled with an opening round 81, but bounced back for a 74 to finish tied for 38th.
