(Kapolei, HI) - USF sliced 20 strokes off its rugged opening round to vault into seventh place of the 2007 Kent Youel Invitational Tuesday at the Kapolei Golf Course Tuesday. The Dons shot a forgettable opening round of 320 under blustery conditions, but bounced back with a 300 in the second round of the day.

Top-ranked UCLA (+8) increased its lead over the rest of the competition by shooting a three-over-par 291. Third-ranked Southern California (+19) is now closely trailed by California (+24). San Jose State (+37) bypassed Oregon State (+39; fifth place) to move into fourth and round out the top five.

Senior Jessica Potter led the Dons resurgence with a second round of one-under 71, while sophomore Christina Stockton carded an even-par 72. Sophomore Danielle Cvitanov added a 73 and shares 12th place with Potter (79, 71) at 155 (77, 73) with 18 holes remaining.

Bruin teammates Maria Jose Uribe (-2) and Tiffany Joh (+1) are first and second atop the individual leaderboard. New Mexico State's Suterra Chanachai (+2) is in third with four players tied for fourth at +3. The tournament wraps up tomorrow with a shotgun start at 7:20 a.m.
