USF Women Finish Ninth at Kent Youel Invitational

(Oahu) - San Francisco moved up four spots to finish ninth at the 2003 Kent Youel Invitational held at the Kapolei Golf Course. Senior Kristi Larsen led the charge for the Lady Dons in the final round, carding an even-par 72, while junior Mariko Shimozaki posted a one-over 73.
USF made up a lot of ground after struggling in the opening round in the 17 team field. San Francisco was in 16th place after a 322 in round one, but had moved up to 13th after rebounding for a 304 in the second round. A final round of 306, for a three round tally of 932 moved the Lady Dons into ninth place.
Larsen was the top finisher for San Francisco with 227 (82, 73, 72), good for a share of 13th place while Auten carded a 229 (79, 72, 78) to share 25th.
Oklahoma won the event with a 889 (297, 299, 293), followed by Washington, 891 (301, 301, 289), San Jose State, 907 (303, 302, 302), Long Beach State, 911 (311, 306, 294) and Texas A & M rounded out the top five with 913 (301, 303, 309).
