USF and Cal women's golf will host the sixth annual Bay Area Classic to be held at Hiddenbrooke Golf Course in Vallejo, CA Monday-Tuesday, February 25-26. The tournament field for this year's event includes BYU, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Gonzaga, Idaho, Illinois, Long Beach State, Nevada-Reno, Portland, Portland State, San Diego State, Santa Clara and Weber State. Co-host Cal enters the tournament ranked #28 in the current Golf Week poll, while co-host USF is currently at #47. The Vandals (#36), also rate in the top-50. The field also includes two-time past team champion, the NAU Lumberjacks, who won the first two events in 1997 and 1998.

Hiddenbrooke Golf Course in Vallejo is the tournament site for the 2002 Bay Area Classic. The par-72 Arnold Palmer Signature Course will play at 5,931 yards for the 36-hole event. First tee-times begin on Monday at 8:00 AM, with a Tuesday shotgun start beginning at 8:00 AM.

Tournament results will be faxed to each institution and a recap and top-25 individuals and team finishes will be available online at www.usfdons.com following completion of each round.
