Lady Dons Finish 13th at Elite UCLA Bruin Invitational
Menefee Lakes, CA - USF shot a final round 301 to vault into a 13th place finish at the 2001 Pioneer Electronic
Bruin Classic at the Menefee Lakes Country Club on Tuesday.
After two rounds of play, the Lady Dons were in 16th place. #9 Pepperdine won the tournament title with a dominating 873 (292, 286, 295) performance and finished at an impressive plus nine, six shots ahead of Oklahoma's 879 (292, 293, 294). USC 887 (293, 296, 298), California 896 (297, 298, 301) and host UCLA 902 (291, 305, 306) rounded out the top-five. USF shot a 930 (311, 318, 301) and did so the hard way, bouncing back from a rough round two that was called on account of darkness on Monday and continued Tuesday morning. Pepperdine's Katherine Hull won individual medallist honors, carding a 3-under 213 (70, 73, 70) for the Waves. USF's final round of 301 was their lowest score of the Spring season and the fourth lowest round carded in the final 18 holes of the tournament. Junior Emilie Arnaud was the top finisher for the Lady Dons in a tie for 22nd with a 225 (78, 75, 72) as she carded a par round for the first time this season. Sophomore Lisa Chen tied for 27th with a 227 (79, 74, 74). The Lady Dons return to action when they compete at the BYU Dixie Classic April 9-10 in Provo, Utah.
