(Sacramento) - Danielle Cvitanov shot even-par on the second round of the and held on for a one stroke victory in the 74th Sacramento City Women's Championship Sunday afternoon at Bing Maloney Golf Course. Cvitanov, the reigning West Coast Conference Player of the Year shot a 3-under 70 in the opening round on the par-73 course.

With Cvitanov's triumph, Dons golfers have now claimed the last four consecutive titles in the event. Christina Stockton won her third straight Sacramento City Women's Championship hardware in 2008, winning on the third playoff hole. Stockton finished tied for 11th.

Cvitanov turned in a record-setting season for San Francisco in 2008-09, establishing the best stroke average in program history (74.06) and posted top-10 finishes in every event during the regular season. In addition to six top-five showings and runner-up honors at the Oregon Duck Invitational, Cvitanov shot the lowest round in program history with a 6-under 66 at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic.

A three-time All-West Coast Conference First Team selection, Stockton captured medalist honors at the 2008 Kent Youel Invitational, leading USF to the team title. Cvitanov and Stockton will both compete as seniors at USF in the 2009-10 campaign.
