USF Women's Golf In Third Place At Ram Fall Invitational
Sept. 10, 2001 (Fort Collins, CO) - USF women's golf finds themselves in third place after the first two rounds of the 2001 Ptarmigan/Ram Fall Invitational, hosted by Colorado State. USF shot an opening round 300, followed by a 299 in the second round for a day one score of 599 in the Lady Dons' opening event of the 2001-2002 season. Host Colorado State is in the lead after day one after shooting an impressive 582, including an even-par 286 in the second round. In-state rival Colorado shot 596 (298, 298) to finish second after 36 holes. San Francisco (300, 309) and Nevada (304, 295) each shot 599, while Washington State rounds out the top-five with a 601 (301, 300). Leading the way for USF was junior Susie Laing who shot a 75 in the first round and then came back with an even-par 72 for a share of 11th place at 147. Sophomore Jordan Auten is in 12th place after carding a pair of 74's, while junior Lyndsey Devenish is in 13th place after an opening round 76, followed by a 74.
