USF Drops To Eighth Place in 2001 Oregon State Shanico Invitational
Oct. 9, 2001 (Corvallis, OR) - USF women's golf shot a 303 in the second round of the 2001 Oregon State Shanico Invitational at Trysting Tree Golf Course and find themselves in eight place of the three-day event. Arizona shot an impressive two-over 288 to seize first place at 577 (289, 288) in front of day one leader Cal seven strokes back at 584 (286, 298). Stanford at 591 (295, 296), Brigham Young 595 (296, 299) and Washington 596 (300, 296) round out the top-five in the 19 team field. Junior Susie Laing once again led the charge for the Lady Dons, shooting a one-under 71 to move into fifth place at 143 (72, 71). Junior Lisa Chen is in a tie for 28th after carding a 75 in round two for 152 (77, 75). USF competes in the final round on Wednesday at Trysting Tree.
