Head coach Sara Range announced the newest member of the women's golf team at the University of San Francisco today, when Nikki Jacoby signed a national letter of intent. Jacoby brings an impressive prep and national amateur resume to the Hilltop.

A three-year letter-winner for the boy's golf team at Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego, Jacoby earned back-to-back San Diego Female Player of the Year honors in 1999 and 2000. Following her outstanding junior campaign for the Broncos, Jacoby won her second consecutive Phil Mickelson Jr. Golf Championship and also captured the Marvin K. Brown Jr. Amateur Championship in 2000.

Jacoby has also made an impact on the national amateur ranks and qualified for the America's Cup in 2000 and also earned selection to the U.S. Jr. Girls Amateur Championships in 1999 and 2000. In 2001 Jacoby qualified for the Women's United States Amateur Championship held July 30 - August 4, 2001 at Flint Hills National Golf Club in Wichita, Kansas.

Jacoby made an immediate impact to begin her prep career and won the 1998 San Diego Section C.I.F. Championship as a freshman at Rancho Bernardo.

Range is excited about the impact Jacoby will make for the Lady Dons as they continue the rise to national prominence.

"Nikki will be a tremendous fit for our program and will help elevate our team to the next level. She has all the tools necessary to make a huge impact and will contribute immediately. I feel very fortunate to have a player with her talents commit to USF," Range said.
