(San Francisco) - USF women's soccer head coach Mark Carr has announced the signing of three student-athletes to National Letters of Intent. The trio will join the Dons' program in the fall of 2011.

Heading to the hilltop in the fall will be Trine-Lise Aavik (Norway), Gabby Guaiumi (San Francisco, Calif.) and Halle Bissin (Huntington Beach, Calif.).

Trine-Lise Aavik, F, Norway
Aavik becomes the third Norway native on the Dons' roster this fall. She will join sophomores Hanna Haanes and Cristina Moberg, who made immediate impacts last year as freshmen.

Aavik began her club career with Madalskameratene, where she joined the women's team at the age of 14. She was the top scorer for the team for two years, playing in the Norwegian second division. Aavik then joined FK Donn and aided in leading the team into the first division. In the Norwegian first division, she was the leading scorer for all three seasons. In her final game, Aavik propelled her team to the highest level in Norway, Toppserien, with three goals. In winter of 2010, Aavik joined Amazon Grimstad.

"We are thrilled to pick up another International player who once again will add a level of sophistication and understanding that will only enhance our team," commented Carr. "Trine-Lise is a winner, who works her socks off and who has scored goals at all levels. I see her coming in and making an immediate impact on our front line. She has played with Christina back in Norway and I am excited to play them side-by -side to see how they work together."

Gabby Guaiumi, GK, San Francisco, Calif.
Guaiumi travels to the Hilltop after playing a season with Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Guaiumi hails from the Bay Area and was a four-year starter Tamalpais High. During her prep career, Guaiumi led her team to a North Coast Section Championships as a junior and senior, posting a 42-2-5 record. A three-time All-Conference selection, she tallied 40 shutouts during her final two campaigns including two shutout streaks spanning nine-plus matches.

"Gabby is a huge addition to our program and I am thrilled she is coming to play at USF," Carr said. "She looked at the school and our program back in 2009 and things did not work out. She is a local kid and we are thrilled to have her back in the Bay Area. I expect her to push for the starting position from day one. She is a hard worker with a lot of potential to make spectacular saves."

Halle Bissin, F, Huntington Beach, Calif.
Halle Bissin will don the Green and Gold after a career with the nationally-recognized Laguan Hills Eclipse Soccer Club. A three-year starter, Bissin led her team to the 2008 Coast Soccer League Cup Championship and a 2010 finalists slot at the prestigious Surf Cup. Bissin was a three-year starter at Huntington Beach High and was the her freshman season.

"Halle is a top player coming out of the Laguna Hills Eclipse Soccer program," added Carr. "Halle is a gritty, hardworking forward who can post up and hold the ball and bring other players into the game. She is a constant threat and never stops with her work rate and effort. I am excited to have her in our program and want to see her challenge our forwards"

The three newest additions will join eight additional incoming Dons that were previously announced by Carr. In addition to the most recent signees, Heading to the Hilltop for the 2011-12 season will be Emily Murzinski (Las Vegas, Nev.), Celia Pellegrini (Austin, Texas), Mackenzie Krieser (Portland, Ore.), Liana Coppola (Santa Fe, N.M.), Jaciara Mello (Newbury Park, CA), Tori Uhl (North Vancouver, British Columbia), Abigail Phillips (North Vancover, B.C.), and Lauren AbuAli (Las Vegas, Nev.).
