San Francisco Women’s Soccer Blanks San Francisco State 2-0
San Francisco women’s soccer opened its 2012 spring schedule Friday with a 2-0 result against crosstown rival San Francisco State. Despite dressing just 11 players and playing the final 45 minutes with just 10 on the field, the Dons showed promise under the direction of new head coach Jim Millinder.

Former Don Looking To Help Haiti Win Olympic Spot In London

Mark Carr Resigns As San Francisco Women’s Soccer Head Coach
Mark Carr has resigned as the head coach of the University of San Francisco women’s soccer team, as announced Tuesday by Director of Athletics Scott Sidwell. San Francisco Athletics will begin an immediate national search to find a successor, who will serve as the Dons’ fifth head coach as USF prepares for its 27th season on the pitch in 2012.

Piasta Nets Two On Senior Day As Dons Win 4-0
Joan Piasta scored two goals Sunday as the University of San Francisco women’s soccer team finished the 2011 season by shutting out visiting CSU Bakersfield 4-0 at Negoesco Stadium. The game marked the annual Senior Day, in which the Dons honored Piasta, Meritt Peterson and Keonna Robinson before the contest. Piasta’s two goals marked the first multi-goal match of her career.

Dons Set To Host Senior Day Sunday
San Francisco will conclude the 2011 season, splitting time between the road and the friendly confines of the Hilltop. The Dons will travel to nationally ranked No. 8 Pepperdine, November 4, before returning for a non-conference match-up with Cal State Bakersfield at 1 p.m. The contest with the Roadrunners will mark the annual Senior Day on the Hilltop.

USF continues it’s homestand this week as it hosts a pair of West Coast Conference match-ups. The Dons will welcome the newest member of the Conference, Brigham Young, to Negoesco Stadium. San Francisco and BYU will match-up for the first time as league foes, Thursday at 7 p.m. Sunday, the Dons will host the Gaels of SMC at 3 p.m. as a part of a double-header with the USF men’s soccer team. The Men’s team will kick-off at Noon against Loyola Marymount.

The University of San Francisco women’s soccer team fell just short of history Sunday, as the Dons dropped a 1-0 double overtime decision to Portland at Negoesco Stadium in San Francisco. On Thursday and Friday of last week, the University of San Francisco volunteered to serve free meals at Glide Memorial Church. The Glide Foundation is a highly visible and historically significant service organization in downtown San Francisco. San Francisco Women's Soccer Falls to No. 22 Cal 6-1
San Francisco women's soccer played strong for a half against No. 22 Cal, but wilted under a barrage of shots in the second half, dropping a 6-1 decision in non-conference action on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Negoesco Stadium. The Dons (3-6-0) had some chances - especially in the first half, but the Bears (7-1-0) capitalized on seemingly every opportunity and have now out-scored their opponents 30-7 in 2011.
