2008 SEASON: Played in five games and started one as a freshman... finished 0-1-0 and totaled 146:11 minutes in goal... earned 12 saves for a .750 save percentage... allowed just four goals for a 2.46 goals against average... in collegiate debut played an entire half in goal, recording one save in 45:00 minutes verses Eastern Kentucky (9/7)... started first game and played the full 90:00 minutes with 10 saves, but earned the loss at Pepperdine (11/8). PREP/CLUB CAREER: Played four years of soccer at Westview High School... finished with a 0.70 goals against average... helped team to three CIF Championships (2005, 2007, 2008)... team was a CIF Finalist in 2006... earned All-CIF Division II Second Team honors in 2006 and 2007... named to the All-Academic team in 2007... earned All-Section Second Team accolades in 2007... graduated with a 4.2 GPA and named to the Distinguished Honor Roll all four years... was a member of the National Society Scholars. PERSONAL: Born in November 1990... daughter of Paul and Susan Garland... chose USF for the soccer, very good liberal arts education, the area and coaches... goal for the season is to work hard to become a better, faster, and stronger individual player while contributing to the team for a winning season... best advice she has been given is to just put your head down and work hard... favorite quote comes from Cassius in Julius Caesar, "The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves"... would like to attend an Arsenal vs. Manchester United game in London... favorite movie and book is Pride and Prejudice... favorite musical artist is Steven Curtis Chapman... hobbies include reading, playing soccer, watching movies and TV... would like to become a criminal profiler after graduation... major is Psychology. |
