USF Women's Soccer Falls to Pacific 1-0

Sept. 21, 2008

Final Stats

(San Francisco, CA) - San Francisco faced an aggressive Pacific (5-4-0) at Negoesco Stadium on Sunday night, falling to the Tigers 1-0 in non-conference soccer action. The Dons fall to 4-4-1 on the season.

Pacific came out kicking, earning 17 shots to USF's four in the match. At 8:13 in the first half, the Tigers' Laura Hogan had a wide open net after a pass from Kim Hargrave to score the only goal Pacific would need.

Dons' junior goalkeeper Kelly Pohle allowed the goal, but also saved a season high eight in the match. Tiger's goalie Amanda McNab had four.

Senior forward Alexis Mielke, senior midfielder Katherine Kimure, and freshmen forwards Kelli Woodard and Molly Hall each had a shot for the Dons.

"Once again, we have to put two halves together to find a way to win and be consistent," said head coach Mark Carr. "If we can work on playing for 90 minutes, we'll give ourselves a chance."

USF heads to Southern California for two next week, meeting UC Irvine on Friday at 7:00 PM and Cal State Northridge on Sunday at 1:00 PM.
