(Irvine, CA) - San Francisco women's soccer fell to UC Irvine 2-0 in non-conference action on Friday night. The loss drops the Dons to one game below .500 at 4-5-1, while Irvine improves to 5-5-0. Senior goalkeeper Kelly Pohle had another season high, earning nine saves in 83 minutes. Freshman Sarah Garland played the final seven minutes in goal. Senior midfielder Katherine Kimure led the Dons on offense, with four shots, all on goal. Junior forward Kristina Hall added on shot in the contest. UCI's out shot the Dons 16-5 in the match, and came away with a goal in each half. In the first, Tanya Taylor scored off a rebounded shot from Kate Berrini. In the second half, USF was charged with an own goal off a cross from Berrini. USF returns to action on Sunday against Cal State Northridge. Game time is set for 1:00 PM.
