USF Women's Soccer Ties UC Davis 2-2
Oct. 7, 2005
(Davis, CA) - Junior forward Chelsea Hunt tallied the fifth multi-goal game of her career on Friday as the Dons (2-9-2) played to a double overtime 2-2 tie for the second time in as many games. This time it was with UC Davis (3-6-3) in USF's final non-conference game of the season.
Hunt scored both of San Francisco's goals in the first half. Ten and a half minutes into the game, Hunt scored on Aggie sophomore goal keeper Megan Daws after a quick flip from sophomore forward Fiona O'Sullivan. Just over a minute later, Hunt struck again as she headed the ball into the net on an assist from sophomore mid-fielder Lauren Tweet.
In the second half, the Aggies started to attack. At 62:16, junior defender Katie Snyder scored on an unassisted shot from 35-yards out on Don freshman goalie Katie Hodgson. Twenty minutes later, senior mid-fielder Kristin Aja scored on a corner kick, beating Don defenders to the goal.
Neither team could score in two overtime periods. Davis had a lopsided 39-4 shot advantage in the game, but Hodgson did record ten saves on the night.
The Dons begin conference play at Negoesco Stadium on Sunday at 1:00 PM against Saint Mary's.
