USF Women's Soccer Blanked 2-0 Friday at Pepperdine

(Malibu, CA) - USF women's soccer suffered a 2-0 shutout Friday at Pepperdine Friday in West Coast Conference action on a foggy cool day in Malibu. The Dons (2-10-3, 2-2-0 WCC) could not find the back of the net against the Waves (4-6-6, 1-2-1 WCC), who broke through for their first league win of the season.

San Francisco managed just six shots, led by three from senior forward Fiona O'Sullivan, but Kayla Stolte recorded four saves in collecting her third shutout of the season. Joana Idom scored the game-winner at 23:20 with her first scoring strike of the season. Kylie McDonald added some insurance at 79:52.

Pepperdine held a 14-6 shots advantage, including a 8-2 edge in the second period. Junior goalkeeper Katie Hodgson suffered the loss for the Dons, collecting six saves, increasing her season tally to 65.

USF returns to action when it takes on WCC foe Loyola Marymount Sunday in Los Angeles. Match time against the Lions is set for 11:00 AM.
