(San Francisco, CA) - USF held an 8-6 shot advantage, but couldn't capitalize, and fell to Gonzaga 1-0 in West Coast Conference soccer action at Negoesco Field on Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs (7-9-2, 2-3-0 WCC) owned a 3-1 corner kick advantage over the Dons (5-11-2, 0-5-0 WCC). Gonzaga scored early, but was kept out of the net for the remainder of the match. At 12:53, junior forward Lori Conrad headed the ball into the upper right-hand side after a perfectly placed corner kick from sophomore midfielder Sheridan Jones. For USF, junior forward Kristina Hall led all Dons with three shots, one on goal. Junior forward Samantha Brand had two shots, also one on goal. Senior midfielder Katherine Kimure, freshman forward Kelli Woodard, and freshman forward Molly Hall each added one shot in the match. Junior goalkeeper Kelly Pohle (4-9-1) added two saves to her team leading total of 75. Bulldogs sophomore goalie Lauren Ames had two saves in the game. USF returns to action Sunday, November 2, at Negoesco Field. The Dons will host WCC foe Loyola Marymount at 11:00 AM.
