Final Stats

(Bakersfield, CA) - Freshman Aly Drake put the Dons back in the win column with her third goal of the season, as San Francisco defeats Cal State Bakersfield 1-0 on Sunday afternoon. USF gets back above .500 at 7-6-5, and drops the Roadrunners to 6-11-2.

Drake scored at 37:04 after a one touch from senior defender Samantha Brand, who received the ball off a corner from junior defender Ashley O'Brien.

CSUB held an 8-5 shot advantage, but the Dons earned the nod on corners 4-2. Senior goalkeeper Kelly Pohle had five saves in the match. Along with Drake, senior midfielder Kristina Hall, and sophomores Kallie Caldwell, Molly Hall, and Keonna Robinson each had one shot.

"Awesome team performance today," said head coach Mark Carr. "Got back to basics with our hard gritty and tough defending. Kallie and Ashlyn were monsters in the air and it was a great win!"

USF closes out the 2009 season next weekend, hosting Pepperdine at Negoesco on Saturday, November 7. Kick off is set for 1:00 PM.
