Complete Release in PDF Format THIS WEEK FOR THE DONS: USF hits the road for the first road trip of the young 2008 season. The Dons head to Colorado for two games, meeting Northern Colorado on Friday, August 29 at 6:00 PM Pacific, and the University of Colorado to close out the month on Sunday, August 31 at 12:00 PM Pacific. USF last met the Bears in 1985, suffering a loss. The Dons and the Buffs last met in 2001, and USF holds a 2-0 advantage, including 1-0 on Colorado turf. NEXT UP FOR USF: To open September, the Dons return home for two non-conference matchups at Negoesco Stadium. On Friday, September 5, USF welcomes Nevada to the Hilltop for a 7:00 PM meeting. On Sunday, September 7, USF hosts Eastern Kentucky, with kick-off set for 1:00 PM. HOME SWEET HOME FOR THE DONS THIS YEAR: After playing just seven home games all of last season, the Dons add three to their home slate, but play just three out of seven in conference. USF took a 1-0 victory over Fresno State at Negoesco in the season opener for both teams, and return home after the Colorado trip to host Nevada (9/5) and Eastern Kentucky (9/7). San Jose State (9/18) and Pacific (9/21) visit the Hilltop in mid-September. To open October, USF hosts CSU Bakersfield (10/5) and Seattle University (10/10). Northern Colorado participated in its first-ever Big Sky Tournament in 2007, defeating Weber State 3-1 before losing to Sacramento State 3-0 in the championship match. The Bears return nine starters from last season's team, including second team All-Big Sky selection Teresa Prais and honorable mention selections Megan Bellendir and Sydney Vander Velde. Junior Nikki Marshall and senior Michelle Wenino were named to All-Big 12 Preseason team. Marshall, coming off a summer as a member of the U.S. U-20 Women's National Team, was named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team for the second year in a row, while Wenino receives her first preseason nomination.
