USF Women's Soccer Team Having Fun in the Community
Sept. 22, 2004
(San Francisco) - Pizza, soccer and fun were on the schedule this past Sunday, as the USF women's soccer team took time from their busy pre-conference season to give a little back to their loyal fans, the PK Kids Cub. In an initiative conceived by Head Women's Soccer Coach Pamela Kalinoski, the PK Kids Club provides an opportunity for Bay Area soccer players under high school age to be actively involved with their Lady Don soccer heroes. As a result, these young fans become an inspirational part of the women's team.
Membership benefits of the PK Kids Club include season tickets to all USF women's home games, the chance to scrimmage and practice in USF's brand new Negoesco Stadium, and ticket discounts for parents. Most excitingly, membership also includes the opportunity to participate with the USF Dons women's team in an exclusive PK Kids Club soccer clinic.

On Sunday, September 19, following USF's double overtime tie against Pennsylvania the USF women's soccer team held their PK Kids Club clinic. They spent time with their loyal young fans, mentoring them on how to become great soccer players.
Although teaching soccer skills was the emphasis of the event, there was plenty of time for player-fan interaction. The opportunity to play soccer with their heroes and interact with them is an experience that the PK Kids Club members will not soon forget. Following the practice, the PK Kids Club and the women's soccer team sat down together to eat lunch in order to get to know each other better.
"This is really what it is all about. Having the opportunity to show your appreciation to your youngest yet most energetic fans while being positive role models enables us to give back to the community ," said a proud Pamela Kalinoski.
