Women's Soccer Hosts #20 Pepperdine

San Francisco hosts one of the hottest programs in the country when the Waves of Pepperdine come to Negoesco Stadium for a West Coast Conference contest on Friday. The Waves enter the match ranked #20 and are one of a record five WCC schools currently ranked in the top-25.
Scouting Pepperdine: The Waves are traveling to the Hilltop after defeating #2 Santa Clara Sunday in Malibu. Pepperdine won 1-0 four minutes into overtime with the Broncos. It was the first time the Waves beat the Broncos as the loss snapped a 10-game winning streak for Santa Clara. Freshman forward Ali Pavoni tallied the goal for her fourth of the season. Senior goal keeper Lindsey Brouillette recorded her fifth shutout of the season for the Waves and 15 saves in the contest. The shutout brings Brouillette tally to 10.5, a new school career record for shutouts.
USF Shutouts Gonzaga: The Dons defeated the Bulldogs in a 3-0 shutout Friday in Spokane. Senior forwars Heidi Prestegard tallied two goals, including the game-winner, against Gonzaga. The goals brings Prestegard's total to five goals on the season and 16 in her career on the Hilltop. This was the second multi-goal game for Prestegard this season. Junior defender Kristin Gordon scored her first goal of the season against the Bulldogs as well. Sophomore goalies Jennifer Orantes and Stephanie Beall split the shutout with four saves each. This game marked the third shutout for the Dons in their last five outings, the second consecutive since the Don's defeated Nevada-Reno in a 2-0 decision.
USF Blanked By #5 Portland: The Dons were shutout on Sunday by the Pilots in Portland in a 6-0 decision. Portland led the match with a 28-2 shot advantage, 18-0 in the first half. Junior forward Kirsteen Buchan and Prestegard recorded the only two shots for the Dons. Orantes tallied eight saves between the posts in the first half and Beall allowed only one goal on ten shots in the second while recording three saves.
