Countdown to Women's Soccer Final Game
Nov. 6, 2009
Leading up to their final game, the three seniors on the women's soccer team sat down to answer a few questions for USFDons.com.Today we hear from midfielder Kristina Hall.
What are some of your best memories from USF?
All the wonderful trips we took as a team, mainly my freshman year to Hawaii. It was the best trip I have been on. Although playing in the east coast was also a blast, competing with UNC and DUKE. Being able to play against the best teams in the country is the best feeling. As for the school part, meeting new people that have become a part of my life.
What will you miss the most?
Having a family always around me, always having someone there to talk to. Of course the soccer, practice and competing against other colleges. And just not having to worry about the real world and working.
How has soccer impacted and influenced your life?
It is my life. I came here for soccer and to get an education. I have learned a lot in my last four years, both long life lessons and dealing with every day issues.
What are some things you have learned from coaches, professors, teammates, and/or friends while playing here that you will take with you into your next endeavor?
I have learned how to stick up for myself and not get walked all over. I struggled with that my freshman year. I have added to my respect for people, I learned that if you reach out to your peers and staff, they are more willing to be there for you too.
How do you feel having spent your entire collegiate career at USF?
I am extremely happy I followed through and stayed for all four years. I like to finish and follow through with whatever I start. I came in with a freshman class of nine, and there are only two of us left. There isn't anything I can think I would change, no reason why I would have left USF. It's close to home and I love the city.
What's next for you?
Life! As of right now I want to play professionally, I don't care where, I prefer to go overseas and play. As long as I don't have to sit behind a desk, I'll be happy. If that does not work I have some options for jobs around the city. Some architecture and others just to bring in the money.
Any advice to your former teammates?
Just stick with it and it will pay off! It is hard, but life ain't easy. Whatever you want to do, if you have enough passion, don't give up because you will get it. Just push for the best and it will come.
