MAJOR: International Business Michelle Marie Duncan: Team Captain Aka: Duncs, Mitch, Gandolf, the white girl Michelle's tennis: Michelle is a danger on the court--not only to others, but to herself as she claims the title for the klutziest person on the team. She is also dangerous to her opponents as shown by her catfight track record. She has taken on players and coaches alike, scaring everyone she goes up against. Our assistant coach has never quite been the same since Michelle hit him in a hurtful area during practice. Oh, and her tennis skills intimidate people too. Fun facts about Michelle: She used to be a hippie and still owns some hemp jewelry... Has taken styling tips from the men's tennis team since chopping off her hair... She will only wear New Balance tennis shoes. No one is sure why... Her favorite movie is Cats and Dogs because she loves any disturbing stuffed animal that moves, sings, or talks... She is permanently attached to her cell phone... She is late to everything... Her favorite practice attire is something Coach Hilary calls the "born in the USA" outfit... She has a Boston Terrier called Buckwheat and now cries out "Buckwheat" every single time she sees one... Up until last year, she still used the ThunderLite racquet. Michelle's dreams for life: Michelle would like to be a National Geographic journalist so that she can visit every country for free. Cheap-o. PREP CAREER: Lettered four years in tennis...team won state championships all four years...won doubles state championship during junior and senior campaigns...doubles state runner-up sophomore and freshman years...team captain three years...named the Arizona Republic Athlete of the Week...National Honor Society member...student body president. PERSONAL: Michelle Duncan... chose USF for San Francisco, the tennis team and the diversity of cultures of the city...goal for the season is for the team to finish in the top three in the West Coast Conference... lists Kevin Costner and Steffi Graf as the most impressive people she's met...sister, Sarah, played tennis at Santa Clara...best thing she likes about being a student athlete is to be part of a sports team and represent the school...favorite sports figure is Steffi Graf... best advice she would give is "live life with no fear or restriction"...intends to travel and go to graduate school after she graduates...would like to attend the world cup...favorite music artist is David Gray...enjoys hiking, music, sky-diving, and traveling... parents are Michael and Jeanne... born March 28, 1983 in Phoenix, AZ. |
