Coach Somers' Take

Nickname: Milano Cookie, Myleners

Tennis: Although Mylene may not look incredibly threatening don't be fooled by the naked eye. Mylene's irritating drop shots make you want to quit tennis because they leave you dumbfounded. And she hits a big ball for just a little lady. She participated in many national and international tournaments until 18 years old in France. She participated in the French Championship by team and was a two time regional champion in France. In her first year as a Don, the little freckled face freshman from France went 20-0 in singles last season. That is a first ever for a USF women's tennis player to have an undefeated season. She is quite a feisty competitor who always comes prepared and ready to play. In fact, even in the fall tournaments she comes the final day of the tournament just to try to pick up an extra match with another player sitting around there. She is a tennis nut and her passion for the game is so apparent when she plays.

Personal: Mylene cracks up constantly even if things aren't close to being funny...we will never know if she can see over the net...she is a competitive fireball on the court always making sure she gets to finish every baseline game...She talks in French on the court as she throws her racquet 10 feet up in the air (I am sure she is saying how much she loves tennis...is a little spasmodic when it comes to doing footwork drills...she can be easily mistaken as American but we are told she is in fact from France...can't wait to be shown what America's nightlife really has to offer.

Future Ambitions: Mylene aspires to one day make it to the WNBA and be a contender for the slam dunk contest and she has already begun her quest of hunting down and marrying Vlade Divac.
