2007-08 SEASON: Finished the year 2-17 in singles play (1-0 at No. 4, 2-10 at No. 5, 1-5 at No. 6)... first win of the season came against WCC foe Nienke Strijbis 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 of No. 59 Saint Mary's (2/25/08)... earned her win at No. 4 but taking down Sanda Hadzisabic 6-2, 6-3 of San Jose State 4/10/08)... took a 6-4, 6-3 win over Luisa Cantu of University of Texas-Pan American (4/13/08)... finished the season 3-11 in doubles play... second of three doubles victories came over conference foes Stephanie Galainena and Samantha Georgino (8-3) of Santa Clara (4/12/08). 2006-07 SEASON: Had a 5-3 dual singles record... defeated UC Santa Barbara's 5-7, 6-3, 6-1... won a 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 decision versus Santa Clara's Lindsay McBride... topped Gonzaga's Schofield 6-0, 6-0... against Pacific topped Clara Schuhmacher 6-1, 6-2... defeated Cal State Fullerton's Shaghig Injejikian 6-1, 6-1... paired with junior Joana Macedo in doubles...duo topped UC Santa Barbara's Brittany Kausen and Wilson 8-2... at the Saint Mary's Invitational pairing won match-ups versus UC Davis' Jessica Harris and Andrea Phillips (8-6) and Portland's Lindsay Griffin and Audree Jenks (Inj.). 2005-06 SEASON: Competed in 19 singles matches in the No. 6 spot for the Dons as a freshman... earned a 15-4 overall record and went 5-3 in conference play... enjoyed a 6-3, 6-2 win in singles competition against San Diego (1/27/06) and a 6-0, 6-2 win against Hawaii (1/29/06) to open the spring season... collected a 6-0, 6-2 win against Santa Clara (2/20/06), helping USF earn its first win over the Broncos in seven years... competed with teammate Mylene Martin in the No. 3 spot for doubles competition... earned a 11-3 overall record and went 6-2 in conference play... the pair earned an 8-4 win at UC Davis (2/11/06) to help the Dons clinch their fourth straight win... also earned an 8-3 victory over a Bulldog pair and an 8-5 victory against Portland in the WCC Championships (4/22-4/23/06), helping the Dons clinch fifth place. AMATEUR CAREER: Was a four time Regional Champion in France... advanced to the semifinals of the National French Championship Under 18 in doubles in 2004... won the French Nike Junior Tour Under 14 and represented France in the International Nike Junior in South Africa. PERSONAL: Born April 29, 1986... daughter of Phonethip and Frederique Oudomvilay... chose USF for the city and the ideal atmosphere... goal for the season is to help the team succeed... likes the diversity of San Francisco... favorite book is The Alchemist... favorite food is Pastries... hobbies include exploring San Francisco and baking... major is Mathematics. Coach Somers' Take Nickname: The Baker, The Mathematician, Cookie Monster, HRD (Human Rain Delay) Tennis: Winners seem to come out of nowhere because her strokes are quite deceiving and her ready position is quite intimidating. She won the National French Nike Junior Tour under 14 and represented France in the International Nike Junior in Sun City, South Africa. She participated in many international tournaments under 14, 16, and 18 in France. Sarah advanced to the semifinals of the National French Championship under 18 in doubles in 2004. She was a four time regional champion in France. Personal: The infamous tennis ball clipper makes Sarah stand out at all tournaments and practices because it is one of a kind...we thought they were extinct because we haven't seen them since the early 1990's...she went out on a limb and for the first time in her life she busted out the team tennis skirt though VERY reluctant. She seems to nod in affirmation at everything that is said to her, no one will ever truly know if she gets it...can be seen in the library at all times... Is terrified of her teammates and what they do in their free time ...and most importantly natural beauty is everything. She is the team baker and will make you any French dessert you would like on demand.
