UC Davis Top Dons 4-3

DAVIS, CALIF. - With three consecutive victories, from No. 2 to No. 4, in singles UC Davis topped San Francisco 4-3 Friday afternoon at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. USF's Jennifer Heinser continued her current win streak, taking her fifth straight in a 6-1, 6-2 decision over Davis' Randi Schuler.

The loss drops USF to 2-3 on the season while UC Davis improves to 1-3 on the year.

Along with her singles victory, Heinser teamed with Emma Taylor to open the day's dual with an 8-2 win over Robin Guier and Schuler. The Aggies' Jenna Kappel and Herzyl Legaspi, and Anita Athavale and Desiree Stone won out to give UC Davis the one-point advantage.

Following Heinser's win, Guier, Stone and Legaspi beat USF's Taylor, Cecelia Gratian and Jenny Sperry to put the dual out of reach at 4-1 with two matches to go.

The Dons' Sarah Oudomvilay and Jessy Mekpoh finished the dual by taking 6-3, 1-6, 6-0, and 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 victories.

USF competes next Friday versus WCC rival Santa Clara atGolden Gate Park. The dual is set to begin at 1 p.m. PT.
