(Sonoma, CA) - USF women's tennis dispatched Sonoma State 5-2 in non-conference action on Friday in Sonoma, bouncing back from a tough road loss against Bay Area rival San Jose State on Tuesday. With the win, the Lady Dons improve to 1-2 on the year.

Gabi Ruiz, Caroline Tweeton, Carey Savage and Anna Skogerboe won their singles matches in the top-four, while the Cossacks recorded victories at number five and six. San Francisco swept Sonoma State in double action, although Ruiz and Skogerboe were forced to a tie-break at number one, before winning 9-8 (7-4).

USF returns to action when they host Cal State Fullerton Sunday, Feb. 10 at Golden Gate Park. Match time is scheduled for 11:00 AM.
